Safety Beyond the First Inspection

Electrical hazards, fuses, lightning bonding, tower decisions, and RF exposure factors. The exposure model is not a compliance calculator.

NOT STARTED

Lab workspace

Work through the six stages. This remediation lab fills a gap left by Foundations and Core. Finishing it does not finish the Technician syllabus, and it is not Technician exam readiness.

Stage 1 of 7

LEARN

TC-08 was a first look at station safety. This lab is the inspection you do with your eyes. You do not open live equipment, climb, or expose anyone to RF. Current through the body is the shock hazard. A stored charge can remain after a supply is switched off.

Stage 2 of 7

SEE IT

A fuse protects the wiring by opening. A lightning path and an ordinary RF ground are related jobs and they are not the same job.

Stage 3 of 7

DO IT

The site plan is a decision, not a climb. Then the exposure bench. Radio energy is non-ionizing. The average on the bench is not an FCC limit.

Stage 4 of 7

EXPLAIN IT

Why can't RF exposure safety be decided from transmitter power alone?

Stage 5 of 7

EXAM CONNECTION

Radio Lab practice from the inspection. Not the official pool.

Stage 6 of 7

FIELD TASK

The simulated station may go on the air only after the inspection. You are looking. You are not repairing live wiring or climbing.

Stage 7 of 7

ONE MORE CHECK

One site rule was still a principle. Apply the distance. You are not climbing anything.
